28 Aug Laser engraver rotary axis
I was able to put together a rotary axis for the laser engraver from parts left over from other projects. It allows the laser to engrave cylindrical objects like glasses and bottles. A stepper motor similar to the one that powers the y axis is used to rotate the object. It is simply a question of taking the power from the y axis and plugging it into the rotary attachment. At he moment the Y scale of the design has to be changed to compensate for the gearing of the system, but as soon as I figure out what pulleys and belts are needed this can be fixed.
